News has been breaking over night and continues to come in regarding the plans for a new breakaway European Super League to begin as early as August.
The plan is for the some of Europe’s ‘elites’ to join a Wednesday night competition, playing in that rather than any other European competitions, whilst continuing their domestic leagues.

As you’d imagine, with Chelsea confirming themselves as one of the teams who will be joining the league, their fans are nothing short than angry on the whole about the situation, with many believing it will ‘ruin football’ as we know it.
Money runs this sport, it has done for a long time, but this latest move just reiterates how hugely these clubs (businesses) are driven by money and they history of the game is slowly dying out.
Just take a look at some of these views from Chelsea fans on the comments section to a poll I decided to run this morning. I’m shocked that some are actually voting ‘for it’ to be honest.

I would take literally anything to not go to that competition. I’d prefer to be relegated than that. I’d prefer to sacrifice the champions league and fa cup for that. They’re ruining football and it’s not right.
