Chelsea were already winning and closing in on 3 points when West Ham were reduced to ten men today, but there was a sense that it killed any chance that the home team had of getting something from the game.
Even Thomas Tuchel, who stopped short of calling it a mistake, said he wasn’t sure it was a red, and would have been happy if it had only been a yellow.
It’s always easy to be magnanimous in victory, but we think Tuchel meant it when he called it “harsh.”
