Thomas Tuchel feels ‘part of’ the Chelsea ‘family’ and wants to stay ‘as long as possible’

Amongst all the madness of the European Super League announcement today, I thought it would be fitting to bring some news that will make you smile.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has had a great time as Blues boss since taking charge just three months ago, and he has set the team up for a successful end to the season.

When he took charge in January, he was bought in on a short 18-month contract. However, Tuchel has confirmed he is keen to sign a new extension and stay at Chelsea ‘as long as possible.’

The German head coach says that he now feels part of the Chelsea family, which will be music to the ears of Chelsea fans this morning, especially with all that is going on out there.

As reported by Sky Sports, Tuchel said:

“I demand to deliver, to have an impact and be the best I can.

“If I deserve to stay [at Chelsea], I want to stay as long as possible. I feel like part of the family, it is super professional, we have unbelievable support and I want to fight on the touchline with this team.

“I don’t care what the contract says. If I deserve to stay longer, I will stay longer. I feel free and good, I’m at the right place. If I want to stay long, I need to deliver week in, week out.”

I am sure that Chelsea will look to extend his current deal at the end of the season, especially if they manage to win honours which they stand in good stead to do right now.
