We hate losing players to injuries picked up on international duty, but it hurts especially when it’s N’Golo Kante.
And that’s not just because he’s so important to us – it’s because it happens to him just so, so often when playing for Les Bleus, and because his last few years of injuries all seem to stem back to an issue he picked up playing for Didier Deschamps’ team in his second season at Chelsea.
It’s happened again this week, and now Thomas Tuchel has just confirmed in his press conference that the midfielder is out for the game against West Brom tomorrow, and probably the game against Porto next week too.
Tuchel says everyone is available for West Brom, bar one player: "Everyone was training today except N'Golo Kante." #CFC

Tuchel expects Kante to miss the Porto game too. https://t.co/yayJnLnpu1

Nizaar Kinsella of Goal.com quoted the manager’s exact words, and while Tuchel didn’t outwardly show any annoyance, we can imagine he’s just as frustrated as the rest of us under the surface.
Still, we should have enough firepower to get through both these games without Kante – let’s hope he’s at least back to 100% by next weekend.
Wish him quickly recovery
it worries me when such great player gets injuries…it really affects our team!
