“They won’t take my place” – Mason Mount’s reaction to summer signings revealed

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount simply continues to prove his doubters and haters wrong on a daily basis.

In the summer, when Chelsea signed a host of expensive new talent in areas that could affect Mount’s game time, there was a lot of talk that this would see him lose his regular place.

I also have some significant exclusive news on Chelsea’s pursuits of Erling Haaland and Gianluigi Donnarumma here.

But he didn’t, he continued to be a Frank Lampard regular.

Then Lampard got sacked, and the same noise returned, Mount will lose his spot under Thomas Tuchel was the talk.

But he didn’t, he continued to be a Thomas Tuchel regular.

Get the picture yet? Mason Mount is actually a very good player who is still improving and developing.

His Dad, Tony, has revealed his attitude and reaction to Chelsea signing these shiny new players in the summer, and as expected, he was un-phased and excited about the arrivals if anything, because he wants to win trophies at Chelsea.

“He saw the players coming in as a massive challenge,” as cited by The Daily Star.

“People were saying he would lose his place and he was aware of that.

“Mason’s attitude was brilliant. He thought Chelsea were bringing quality into the club and he’s desperate to win things.

“He didn’t look at that as anything other than good for the club, good for the team, and a challenge for him.

“I remember talking to him about it and he said, ‘They won’t take my place, I’ll raise my game’.”
