Chelsea are in the Champions League semi finals after beating Atletico Madrid over two legs, the first of which took place in Bucharest because of the coronavirus situation in Spain.
It ended up being a big advantage for the Blues, who got a 1-0 win in the “away” leg, and then finished the job at home, getting them through to play Porto in the semis. The story looks like it could be about to repeat itself.
Portugal is being cautious about its own covid protocols after a horrible January wave, and they aren’t keen to allow football to bend the rules. Angelo Mangiante of Sky Italia has exclusively claimed today that it’s “very likely” that the Blues will face Porto on neutral ground, possibly in Seville.
#Porto vs #Chelsea will be played on neutral ground. Not yet official but very likely.
For the moment Seville has offered to host it. #ChampionsLeague #CFC— Angelo Mangiante (@angelomangiante) March 29, 2021
We’ll take any advantage we can get – and if there’s anywhere as lovely as Porto, it’s Seville. What a shame that the fans won’t be able to travel there to enjoy it.
