Chelsea walked away from the away leg of their Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid with a win, and everyone looked right pleased about it.
The Blues dominated possession but couldn’t create the chances they needed – until a special Olivier Giroud finish gave them the lead. Thomas Tuchel was smiling in his chat with Chelsea TV after the game, but even he knows that we’re going to have to create more in the future if we want to take this team to the next level.
“Ball possession means nothing” the coach stated, pointing out that especially against defensive teams like Atletico, it’s about what you do with it rather than how long you have it.
