Chelsea draw Sheffield United at home in FA Cup quarter final – if they progress past Barnsley

Chelsea have drawn Sheffield United in the FA Cup quarter final, assuming they beat Barnsley tonight.

The tie is to be played at home, after the Blues had to travel to Oakwell for tonight’s game in the Fifth Round.

There are some big teams left in this competition – Leicester City, Manchester United and Manchester City, Everton, even Southampton. So the Blues really ended up with a soft option in the end.

The Blades have looked better in recent weeks, but Chelsea beat them just a week ago, and they may decide to weaken their team a little for the game too, if Premier League survival continues to become more of a possibility.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves though – the task at hand is beating Barnsley tonight. That’s no guarantee, and our heavily rotated team will have to hit the ground running if they want to set up this quarter final match.
