Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been speaking to BeinSport after the win over Luton, and despite the good result, the interviewer inevitably went for the negative angle – Timo Werner’s penalty miss.
Lampard refused to get down about the striker’s bad run – instead pointing to the totality of the German striker’s efforts.
“I saw a lot of positives,” the Blues boss insisted, and he’s not just defending the summer signing. He did indeed look aggressive and positive throughout the 90 minutes, and won the penalty himself with his direct running.
You can see the manager speaking in the clip embedded here, with his answer about Werner coming after about a minute:
"I'm not concerned about the penalty in the slightest!"
