Chelsea are 2-1 up against Sheffield United at the break, and all the talk at half time was about Hakim Ziyech.
The Morocco international had cost his team a goal by switching off at a corner, but quickly made his mark going the other way – first by picking out Mateo Kovacic who then cut the ball back for Tammy Abraham to score; and then with a delightful flighted ball over the back of the defence, which Ben Chilwell got on the end of to score.
On Sky Sports they discussed the second goal at half time, with Chelsea coach and former player Ashley Cole saying that he had “taught” Chilwell to make those runs to the far past because of Ziyech’s ability to pick him out.
You can see the conversation with
Graeme 🗣 "You were saying to us off-air you taught him that to be making that run all the time"
Cole 🗣 "I would love to play with someone with that quality"
