Chelsea have made some fantastic signings in the summer and they have all done their part in making an instant impact.
None more so than at the back, with Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, and Edouard Mendy helping turn Chelsea’s defensive woes into a solid unit.
This was something that badly needed addressing after a season of conceding far too many goals and looking far too dodgy at the back.
One player who has come in and looked the part instantly and has already become part of the furniture, is goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
He has been fantastic since coming in and provided Chelsea defence with stability, calmness, organisation, and leadership – which is exactly what they needed.
Lampard has been very pleased with his impact, but not just on the pitch. He has been full of praise for Mendy’s attitude and work ethic as well, and says that everything his scouts told him about Mendy was completely true…
