“I’d never look at it as a rivalry” – Chelsea midfielder hints he can play with England team mate

There has been an odd story brewing up over the last few months surfacing from the England camp.

Three lions boss Gareth Southgate has often opted to pick Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, and this has left cause for discussion from fans and pundits alike.

Some believe that Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish should be getting in ahead of Mount, but really the debate should be why can’t they play together in the same team – their form this season has proved that they both deserve to be starting for England, and they both could be.

However, there always seems to be talk of a rivalry between the pair instead, and Mount has been forced to address this in his latest interview during the current international break.

He and Grealish are both currently in the England camp together ahead of their latest matches, and both will be hoping for a start, or at least some solid game time for their country in the next ten days.

As reported by The Telegraph, Mount said:

“I’d never look at it as a rivalry [with Grealish].

“We are two different players and we do different things. We are two team-mates who want to do the best for each other, for the team and for the country as well.

“We can play in different roles. I look at the way he’s been playing this season, he’s been unbelievable and we both want to bring that to the next three games.”
