Chelsea’s Reece James says “I think we’ve got every chance” of winning the league

Chelsea right back Reece James was once again one of the best players on the pitch last night, and this is becoming the normal for him.

He has been one of Chelsea’s most consistent performers over the last couple of seasons and his rise to the top is rapid.

He played the full 90 minutes against Tottenham yesterday, a game that they were disappointed not to win.

But Jose Mourinho’s side setup a stubborn low defensive block and pretty much played out for the 0-0 draw.

James was a real threat for Chelsea down that right hand side providing cross after cross for his attackers, but it just wasn’t their day and the young full back was robbed of a couple of assists once again.

He stayed in positive spirits though and is not unhappy with a draw, and James even believes his Chelsea side can win the league this season.

Speaking to the Chelsea website, James said:

“We created a few chances and it’s obviously disappointing to come away with a draw but they’re a very good side and now we move on to the next game.

“We had a clean sheet so it’s still all around a positive performance for the team.

“At the end of the day the aim of the team is to win the league and I think we’ve got every chance. That’s the goal but we have to keep working and keep pushing and getting better as a team.”
