Chelsea monitoring RB Leipzig’s England under-18 international

Chelsea are one of a few clubs monitoring RB Leipzig left back, Matthew Bondswell, according to The Telegraph.

The England Under-18 international is currently on loan at FC Dordrecht in Holland, but he is being tracked as for a possible return to his homeland in January.

Chelsea, West Ham, and Sporting Lisbon are named as the interested clubs.

Bondswell started his career coming through the Nottingham Forest youth academy, but he was spotted by Leipzig scouts and bought over to Germany early on.

He is a real prospect in world football and Chelsea could look to pounce in January.

They could well lose two of their own first team left backs Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri in January, and of course Ian Maatsen is on loan with Charlton, so Bondswell could well be looked at as first team cover.

However, that is very unlikely with his lack of senior experience.
