This hasn’t been an exciting game by any stretch of the imagination, but it looks like the fate of this Chelsea-Manchester United game will be decided on two moments involving new Blues goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
He made a mistake in the driving rain in the first half, almost passing back into his own goal, and there were fears for his confidence after that. But instead he’s made a couple of solid stops, and then topped them with a superb athletic save in the 91st minute.
Manchester United had worked the ball to the edge of the box, and Marcus Rashford hit a perfect curling effort that had his manager out of his seat celebrating.
But Mendy used his full height to get across and bat the ball away, clean sheet all but secured.
