Chelsea are about to get the ball rolling on an incredibly exciting season, and they’ve got two new faces in the mix already.
Kai Havertz and Timo Werner both line up tonight, with Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Hakim Ziyech still to come into the team.
Everyone is thrilled to see how they got on, but speaking before the game, Frank Lampard urged caution about the expectations put on his players given they’re not had a preseason to train together yet.
Within 90 minutes, we will already have some reactionary takes on this game. But we agree with Lampard – it’s an interesting game, but not one we need to read too much into.
