“We’re going to take good care of him” – Wilder hints at plenty of Premier League game time for Ampadu

Chelsea and Sheffield United confirmed that Ethan Ampadu has made the loan switch from Stamford Bridge to United yesterday as both clubs tweeted official confirmation.

The Welsh international joins the Blades on a season long loan deal.

Ampadu has become a regular for Wales at international level, but he had a nightmare loan spell in Germany with RB Leipzig last season, barely featuring at all.

This season it was very important that he gets the right move so that he can get regular game time and continue his development, with his obvious talent clear to see.

A Premier League loan is ideal as long as he plays, and it looks like he will play.

United manager Chris Wilder has explained that they have a good relationship with Chelsea and thanks Frank Lampard for allowing them to take Ampadu on loan.

His words are pinnacle, suggesting that Ampadu will get game time under him this season.

As reported by Yorkshire Live, Wilder said:

“Ethan is an outstanding young player for Chelsea, and we’ve worked really hard to get his signature for the season.

“We need to thank Frank Lampard and the people at Chelsea for helping making this happen.

“We’ve got a good relationship with them and they know we’re going to take good care of him.

“It’s an important season for Ethan and playing in the Premier League for us is a good move for everyone. He brings a lot of qualities to the group and he’s someone we’ve tracked for two or three seasons.”
