Agreement finally reached as Chelsea target says goodbye to team mates

It appears once again that Chelsea are finally close to confirming their next signing of an already very busy summer transfer window for them.

We have heard this before in recent weeks of course, but perhaps the significant difference this time, is the source reporting it.

Most sources have claimed that a deal is close for Chelsea to sign Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, pending finer details in the agreement.

However, French outlet L’Equipe had been pushing the narrative that Rennes were asking for either or both of Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud as part of the deal.

But over night, the publication have broke the news that an agreement has finally been reached for Mendy to join Chelsea, and it is a deal that will not include any Chelsea player going in the opposite direction.

They say that the 28-year old Senegalese international has said goodbye to his team mates and will be on his way to join Chelsea.
