It’s been a slightly odd spell since the restart for Chelsea fans, given they’ve had to play out their remaining games without the two star players who have been signed for next season.
Usually one season finishes, then you get your new players, but in this case the Blues have had Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner training with them and watching games from the sidelines – but unable to feature.
Still, this is likely the last truly competitive game where this will be the case, and Werner was even down there on the pitch with his new teammates soaking up the prematch buzz in his tracksuit.
He won’t get to play – but perhaps he can start his time at Chelsea celebrating a cup win anyway?
