There was a significant bit at the end of the show where Law is speaking about potential centre back options, and he confirms that Chelsea are interested in signing Atletico Madrid centre back, Jose Gimenez.
Whilst he is unsure about the reality of Chelsea landing this target due to his high release clause, he believes that Gimenez ticks all the boxes and will help solve Chelsea’s defensive issues if they can get him in.
In fact, he thinks Gimenez could make such a great impact at Chelsea that he compares him potentially going to Chelsea to when Liverpool signed Virgil van Dijk.
He says: “I think he can be as big for Chelsea as van Dijk were for Liverpool.”
This is a big claim, but one that makes total sense. Gimenez is a real leader and a fighter, something that Chelsea have been missing. He will dominate the back line and give it some real heart and desire.
