French club open talks to sign Chelsea centre back

Chelsea’s defensive situation has been nothing short of inconsistent this season, and it is something that Frank Lampard will be looking at improving.

The fact that he couldn’t seem to find a solid and regular centre back partnership didn’t help matters either.

Fikayo Tomori started the season as a Lampard favourite and he was starting most of the games. But his fate changed after a couple of errors in matches and he has since been totally overlooked, especially after lock down.

There are now rumours linking him to a move away from Stamford Bridge. In fact, French outlet L’Equipe claim that Rennes have started talks with Chelsea over the potential signing of Tomori.

They don’t know what kind of deal is being proposed or whether it will be a permanent or a loan deal, but it is likely Chelsea will only entertain a deal where they still own Tomori as a player, with his massive potential.
