“Chelsea are a big player in the market” – Top source explains Chelsea’s exciting transfer plans

Chelsea have already signed Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech this summer, and they concluded those deals before the transfer window even opened.

As well as this, there are other expected arrivals at Stamford Bridge this summer, including the high profile and highly talked about Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen.

All of the top sources have reported on Chelsea’s interest in Havertz, and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano gave his positive update yesterday.

There are no doubts over Chelsea’s big intentions this summer – they want to improve and build a squad capable of challenging for all the major trophies and closing the gap on Premier League winners Liverpool.

As many clubs struggle with the financial fallout of the coronavirus pandemic, Chelsea are one of the few teams expected to be financially sound and still spending big this summer.

BILD journalist Christian Falk has earned a good reputation of being a top source of football and transfer news, and in an interview with BR Football yesterday, he reiterated Chelsea’s strong position in the market.

Falk said:

“Chelsea are a big player in the market at the moment because they have the money. For one-and-a-half years there were no deals, but they are prepared to invest now.

“They are leading for Havertz, and it is interesting how this has happened. Before the coronavirus, the agent told clubs that Leverkusen had five, six, maybe even seven teams interested. Chelsea was just one of them—but now teams like Barcelona have no money. Their idea had been a swap that included Arthur and Pjanic. Also Real Madrid, they can’t pay €100 million at the moment.”
