Report: Everton and England goalkeeper made Chelsea’s No.1 candidate to replace Kepa

Chelsea are reportedly looking to replace current number one goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer.

Frank Lampard dropped Kepa for a few matches earlier this season in favour of veteran backup Willy Caballero, thus sparking rumours of his Chelsea future becoming short-lived.

There has been much speculation regarding who would replace Kepa if he does leave, but the one named in the latest report via The Daily Express is a surprising one to say the least.

Apparently, Chelsea want to sign Everton and England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford to replace Kepa this summer.

The report believes that Lampard has grown tired of Kepa’s ability to dip between the sublime and the ridiculous within games.

The Express cite Tutto Mercato Web as the source claiming Chelsea want to sign Pickford, and there has yet to be any further reports on The Blues alleged interest.

So we will take this rumour with a pinch of salt for now.
