Frank Lampard reveals his transfer plans for this summer

Chelsea have gone the last couple of seasons without signing any new players, minus Mateo Kovacic’s loan deal being made permanent.

Last summer they were banned from making any signings, and in January they failed with an attempt to add attacking reinforcements.

So with the next transfer window fast approaching, we could see a rather busy time for the club as Frank Lampard looks to improve his squad.

With the current financial climate being unpredictable due to the pandemic, it looks like we are unlikely to see massive fee’s paid for individual players this summer.

But there will be more swap deals, and it could also turn into a bit of a buyers market due to clubs badly needing funds.

Lampard himself has been talking about his transfer plans for Chelsea this summer, and it sounds as though he is looking to add players to a number of areas in his squad.

As reported by WAGNH, Lampard said:

“I’m certainly excited about the squad we’ve got, with the young players and if we can get a few additions for areas I feel we need.

“We didn’t bring in anyone in January, it didn’t work out to be right for us at the time, and last summer we couldn’t bring anyone in, so those windows are gone and we haven’t changed. So I am excited about the squad we’ve got, if we can freshen up in the right areas we all know that.”
