Some Chelsea fans have started to get nervous that there has yet to be an official announcement that the club have agreed a deal to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
Many outlets have been providing their updates for the last couple of weeks, but the most important official announcement is yet to arrive.
Chelsea fans can rest easy though, according to the latest report from today’s Evening Standard.
They claim that sources have told them the deal will be officially announced THIS WEEK.
They report that Chelsea are dotting the Is and crossing the Ts on the deal and it will be completed this week after smoothing over a number of minor issues thrown up by the coronavirus pandemic.
Restrictions have apparently made it difficult for Werner to complete a medical, but those issues have now been solved.
His release clause ends today, according to the report, so we will continue to wait with patience in the knowledge that the deal is done, pending an announcement.
