Chelsea have received a major boost in their reported pursuit of Ajax left back Nicolas Tagliafico, according to The Evening Standard.
The £22 million rated Argentina international has been linked with Arsenal as well as The Blues, but Chelsea could sign the 27-year old after being given his asking price by Ajax, as per The Telegraph.
Chelsea already have a good relationship with Ajax after signing their winger Hakim Ziyech back in the winter.
But could his former team mate be joining him at Stamford Bridge this summer?
Well, according to the players Agent, he WILL be leaving Ajax.
But he is refusing to reveal which ‘club’ he is currently in talks with.
As the Standard go on to report, Tagliafico’s Agent Ricardo Schlieper said:
“We are looking for a transfer for Tagliafico.
“We have agreed with Ajax that he would leave this year. After having spent two-and-a-half seasons at the club, it’s the ideal moment for it.
“If football goes back to being normal, a transfer could be done for Tagliafico.
“There are clubs that are interested but we have to see how everything pans out with football and the pandemic.
“I will never mention a name of the club we are speaking with because it hurts the negotiations for us and the player.”
The left back will be an absolute steal at that price, and seeing as though Frank Lampard is on the hunt for a new player in that position, it would be silly not to at least look at this deal.
