How Chelsea will finish as PL agree points-per-game system if season is cancelled

Yesterday we had the big announcement from the Premier League that agreements had been made with clubs to resume the current Premier League season on June the 17th, as per The Mirror.

So as it stands, the season WILL resume.

However, according to the same report from The Mirror, if the season cannot be resumed it will be cancelled as the league stands in a points-per-game system.

Of course with the virus being still so unfamiliar and unpredictable, there is a chance that the season cannot be resumed – but that depends on what happens between now and June the 17th.

So if it does get cancelled, where will Chelsea finish?

Based in the points-per-game system, The Blues will qualify for the Champions League by finishing where they are now – in fourth place in the league.

Frank Lampard and his squad will be keen to get back and prove their worth by qualifying normally, but this certainly would not be the worst end result if this did happen.
