Barcelona making winger available for loan could alert Chelsea

Back in December 2019 just before the winter transfer window opened, it was reported that Chelsea had met with the agent of one of Barcelona’s rising stars.

The Sun ran a report suggesting that Frank Lampard was looking to sign a top quality winger when the clubs transfer ban was over.

23-year old Ousmane Dembele was the man in question, and there have been further links since then.

But nothing solid has so far transpired, although that could soon change.

According to The Daily Mail, Barcelona have made Dembele available for loan this summer, and that could be a move that interests Chelsea.

A loan deal would be low-risk, and has proven to work well for Chelsea in recent years – Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid for example.

The Mail say that Barcelona are keen to offload Dembele’s wages for now, but aren’t yet wanting to sell him. A loan deal could be ideal for both parties here under the current climate.
