Premier League club’s determination to restart season to stop 90% of them going bust

Just as we hear the news that Chelsea have asked their players to return from abroad by Sunday in preparation to return to training, Sky Sports have released the latest information on club’s looking to restart the season.

Part of the determination to get the season finished is because of the claim that 90% of football clubs in this country will go bust otherwise, that is according to ‘one club owner’.

As per The Telegraph, the plan is currently to resume light training as early as May the 8th, and full training on May the 11th, with the league restarting on June the 8th.

These proposals will be sent to the clubs tomorrow.

The one club owner who spoke to Sky claimed that they simply cannot afford to wait for vaccines or herd immunity.

But the report also states that Players WILL be allowed to stay away if they feel it’s not safe to play.

The UK Government are set to review the current lock down restrictions in place next Thursday, but if these are extended then it really does look impossible that training will be allowed to resume.
