One of Chelsea’s main rivals pull out of race to sign Argentina international

Chelsea are weighing up a number of options to sign a new striker when the transfer window reopens.

They had an offer rejected for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele back in January when seemingly manager Frank Lampard was desperate to bulk up his striking options.

There is a good chance that they could move for the former Fulham and Celtic striker once again come the summer.

However, they are reportedly looking at a number of other options as well, including Inter striker Lautaro Martinez, according to a number of reports, most recently from Marca (cited by Sport Witness).

They also state that Barcelona, Juventus, PSG, and Manchester United could all enter the race to sign the Argentinian international.

But one club whom they wont need to worry about getting in the way is Manchester City, as the same report claims they have now pulled out of the race to sign the striker.

Allegedly, manager Pep Guardiola doesn’t feel the striking department needs such an investment right now so would rather the funds were used elsewhere instead.
