Frank Lampard’s reported views on potential Philippe Coutinho signing

As you will be well aware by now, Chelsea are being heavily linked with signing Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho when the transfer window reopens.

The latest reports suggests that The Blues are in advanced talks over a loan deal for the former Liverpool player.

Barcelona are pushing for the loan deal to have an obligatory purchase option, whilst Chelsea would prefer it to be an option to buy. So there is no agreement as of yet.

This is according to Spanish publication SPORT, who have close links to Barcelona.

They also claim that Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is convinced that he can get the most out of Coutinho, despite his inconsistent form over the last couple of years.

This would suggest that Lampard is in favour of making this deal happen, even though Coutinho has allegedly been on Chelsea’s shortlist since they sold Eden Hazard last summer, right before Lampard arrived.
