(Video): Didier Drogba destroys Man City defenders with superb turn “on this day”

Didier Drogba was always known as a power player, but he was hardly a bulky target man.

Instead he had a brilliant burst of pace from a standing start which he would use to get ahead of defenders, from where he could use his strength to hold them off.

This goal against Man City from 2006 is a perfect example. That turn and quick cut of speed creates the chance to shoot, and DD doesn’t miss from there.

He continued to menace throughout his career, but there’s something nice about flicking back to see him at his peak that’s really pleasing.
