Tammy Abraham waiting to see who Chelsea sign before agreeing new contract

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has two years remaining on his current deal at the club come June, and talks have been underway for sometime regarding an extension.

However, The Athletic report that the talks have stopped for now but are expected to reconvene again soon.

The report says that Abraham is asking for a similar deal to Callum Hudson-Odoi, who earns a basic wage of £120,000 a week, rising to £180,000 with add-ons.

Chelsea will look to agree a new contract with Abraham AND sign a new striker, according to the publication, who mention Lyon’s Moussa Dembele as the priority.

But 22-year old Abraham is waiting to see who Chelsea sign up front before making his decision to sign the deal, in case a big arrival comes in and risks taking his regular number one spot.

Dembele would certainly be a threat to that, but at the same time the club needs top quality options up top and competition in order to be successful, Abraham will have to realise this.
