Loftus-Cheek comes through positive strong 90 mins showing his class

You have to go all the way back to May last year to find the last time that Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek played 90 minutes of football.

But last night, he did just that for the first time since his serious achilles injury that kept him sidelined for nine months.

The England international started and played the full game for Chelsea under-23s 1-0 win against Everton under-23s in the PL2 last night.

He even won the penalty that lead to the winning goal for The Blues.

It was a case of mission complete as he came through the game unscathed, often on the end of some tough challenges, which he managed well.

There was even one point where an opposition defender tried to hack him down but in typical Loftus-Cheek style he simply bounced him to the floor and sent through a delightful pass.

The 24-year old started the game a bit sluggishly as expected, but he grew in stature in the second half and produced many elements of the fine play that we saw from him last season before the injury.

Positive signs that we will hopefully be seeing back in the senior team VERY soon.
