“He’s a player who makes a difference” – Former player talks up Chelsea target

The talk of Chelsea right now is all based around which new potential left back they will be signing in the summer, or whenever the transfer window opens.

With all that is going on right now, it is a welcome break to actually talk about potential transfer moves for the summer, and who Frank Lampard might look to bring in.

It is pretty clear that a new left back could well be on the cards, with Porto’s Alex Telles continuing to be linked.

Ben Chilwell from Leicester is of course also a target that is talked about a lot.

But Telles would be the cheaper and more realistic option, and it seems like a move that is just destined to happen.

Chelsea have had him on their radar for many years now, and he seems to get reliably linked to making the move every window. It is more reachable than ever now though, with his current contract running out next summer.

Former Porto left back Rubens Junior is all for the move, and has talked up Telles, as reported by Sport Witness.

He said:

“Any player who stands out at Porto knows that he has the eyes of the clubs with the greatest economic power on him. There’s great visibility and that’s what’s happening to Alex Telles.

“We can’t just stick to the goals he scores, but everything he gives the team. You can be a good player, but if you don’t absorb the philosophy of the club, you will hardly be successful.

“He adapted well, scores goals, makes assists, in practice he’s a player who makes a difference and nowadays this is important for football.

“Marcelo, Alex Sandro and Filipe Luís have a differential because of the clubs where they are or have been at. If Alex Telles plays for Chelsea or Barcelona things will certainly change in the very near future.”
