Tammy Abraham reveals the ‘big brother’ who has been ‘encouraging’ him in training

The January transfer window was nothing short of dramatic for Chelsea, but unfortunately not because of players arriving.

There was a lot of rumours floating around all month of various deals, and one that looked like a dead cert was Olivier Giroud’s proposed move out of the club, with several teams linked.

However, that never transpired and Giroud will stay at Stamford Bridge until at least the summer when his current contract runs out.

The France international will be hoping his game time increases as he is desperate to make the national squad for this summers European Championships, but to do this he must get his match fitness up.

He deserves more game time in my opinion, Tammy Abraham is tired and Michy Batshuayi isn’t showing that he has enough to be the backup.

Giroud also sounds like a great experienced guy to have in the camp, and that is backed up by Abraham’s latest comments about a guy who he calls his ‘big brother.’

As reported by Goal, Abraham said:

“He is like a big brother to me. His attitude to me has been great. In training, we are always doing finishing and we have a competition after training as well. It is nice to have that because I have grown up watching him because he is a fantastic striker.

”He has been encouraging many of the young lads. These things happen in football, sometimes you are at the top and sometimes you are not. It is about staying professional and as focused as you can to keep trying.”
