New contract talks with two of Chelsea’s latest rising stars ‘progressing well’

Chelsea have been busy tying down a number of their talented young players to new and extended contracts at the club, in a time where many of them are choosing to go elsewhere in search of first team football.

The likes of Reece James, Mason Mount, Marc Guehi etc have joined a host of recent players who have been handed new deasl, and Tammy Abraham is expected to follow them.

But there are two lesser known players who’s new contracts at the club will be equally as important as the aforementioned.

Midfielder Faustino Anjorin, and left back Ian Maatsen are both in talks with the club to extend their deals, and talks are progressing well with both players according to The Athletic.

Both players are highly rated at the club and have exactly what it takes to make it there. Maatsen could be in for a shot at staking a claim in the summer, with the futures of both Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri being up in the air.

And Anjorin is just an absolute baller!
