Chelsea interest confirmed as club look to sell player in the summer

There was many transfer sagas during the January window just last month, with talk of numerous players potentially arriving at Stamford Bridge.

Of course, nobody did arrive – but apparently that isn’t for lack of trying. Lyon rejected a £40 million offer from Chelsea for their striker Moussa Dembele (Sport Witness), then nothing further transpired.

However, this might not the the end of the saga, with Chelsea’s interest in the striker being confirmed by L’Equipe, as translated by Sport Witness.

The French publication also states that Lyon would be prepared to sell Dembele in the summer regardless of whether they qualify for the Champions League next season or not.

This will put Chelsea on high alert, with Dembele thought to have been on the club’s radar for some time, and is also liked by Frank Lampard.

The Blues will likely be looking to reinforce their attack in the summer, having failed to do so in the winter window.
