Cesar Azpilicueta is Chelsea captain because he sets himself the very highest of standards, and he holds his teammates to them too.
The Blues won tonight but nobody was too happy with how things went. Speaking after the game, the captain was very honest and admitted “We know we have to control better… it’s not the first game we haven’t managed well.”
He’s dead right, as anyone can see. Every single game, whether we end up winning losing or drawing, has a period where we look utterly lost and let the opposition back in.
It has to change, and he knows it.
