Tammy Abraham still in pain but could feature against Leicester after training today

Frank Lampard has been taking his press conference today ahead of Chelsea’s game with Leicester tomorrow, and as well as being asked for transfer updates he was also questioned about the status of the players he already has.

That includes Tammy Abraham, the number 9 whose goals have been so instrumental to Chelsea’s season so far. He looked in serious pain a couple of weeks ago when he was forced to play the last few minutes against Arsenal on a sore ankle, and that may have held back his recovery:

It still sounds like it’s touch and go, and it may just be too much of a pointless risk to play our one outstanding striker in a game like this.

On the other hand, Tammy has had his fair share of big bumps and bruises this season and yet always seems to bounce back quickly. He’s finally made the career breakthrough he’s been looking for, and it’s hard to hold him back now.
