“I’m a big admirer of Frank” – Rival Boss praises the work of the Chelsea Manager

Chelsea have a big task on their hands today, they will head to St James’ Park and hope to come back with all three points against Steve Bruce’s Newcastle side.

Bruce will be hoping to improve on his own recent results, having only won one match in the last five.

Frank Lampard has had a fairly mixed season so far, but his Chelsea side still sit in 4th place in the league and are well within a strong shout of gaining one of those automatic Champions League spots.

Nobody expected miracles this season and most Chelsea fans understand this is a transition period with a young side, there have already been some ups and downs, as always.

But generally, the feel is that Lampard, Jody Morris, Joe Edwards and all the coaching staff are generally doing a decent job so far.

Lampard faces up to Bruce today, and the Newcastle Boss has been full of praise for the former England international, as reported by Northern Echo.

He said:

“I worried about his generation because not many are going into the coaching, but Frank, [Steven] Gerrard, [John] Terry have done it.

“I’m delighted he’s stamped his mark on it straight away. I’m a big admirer of Frank, a great lad and it can’t be easy to manage Chelsea.

“I’m delighted for Frank. As I’ve said many times I worried for that generation. They’re all financially fine because they played in the Premier League. But now you’ve got Frank, John and Gerrard. They’ve stayed in and it’s good to see as I didn’t think there would be many. Frank’s a good lad.’’
