Crystal Palace target Chelsea striker in a move that could spark a swap deal

Crystal Palace are targeting two strikers to sign during this months transfer window, and one of them is Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, according to The Evening Standard.

The Belgian is out of favour under Frank Lampard at Chelsea and plays mainly second fiddle to Tammy Abraham, all bar the odd cup match.

He knows Palace very well having spent time on loan there last season, and he looks to be a target for them again.

There has been multiple reports linking Chelsea to potentially signing Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, as The Standard also touches upon.

But they say that Palace are unwilling to budge on their £80 million valuation of Zaha, which Chelsea surely would not even think about matching.

However, Batshauyi’s valuation would also be too much for Palace to buy out right, so they would be looking at a loan move only.

This to me screams swap deal, if both clubs are serious on getting their targets. Batshuayi could be negotiated into a deal if Chelsea did want to sign Zaha, that will subsequently bring his fee down to something more reasonable.

One to keep an eye on for sure…
