The left back area at Chelsea is somewhat problematic right now, with Frank Lampard choosing to play a right footed 30-year old over both Marcos Alonso and Emerson right now.
Alonso has dropped way down the pecking order and will surely be seeking a move away from Stamford Bridge during this window if he wants to play regular first team football again.
Emerson has not been showing the form that he showed last season when he ousted Alonso from Maurizio Sarri’s regular starting line up.
So it is certainly an area that the Blues boss might look to strengthen this window.
A player who has often been linked with a move to Chelsea is Porto left back Alex Telles, and he is being mentioned again now.
According to a report from Portuguese newspaper A Bola, who ran it on their front page, Chelsea are interested in signing the 27-year old Brazil international, after claims he is unlikely to sign a new contract at Porto, as cited by Be Soccer.
A Bola front page is very interesting… Alex Telles is a player Chelsea have been watching for a long time..
They state Telles does not want to renew his contract with Porto, Chelsea and PSG will fight for his signature. pic.twitter.com/a9lLrBVGXv
