“Sorry mate” – John Terry cheekily apologises for grimacing Kovacic handshake

Chelsea legend John Terry has endured quite the week in his footballing career.

He returned home to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening and was greeted with an emotional welcome back by his beloved Chelsea supporters.

Unfortunately though, Terry was on the opposition bench this time for his duties as the Aston Villa Assistant Manager.

Chelsea got the better of their former captain and won the match 2-1.

Terry would have adored his reception from the Blues fans but went home on the losing team.

During the usual handshakes at the end of the match their were many embraces from the Chelsea guys with Terry, including the one reported by The Metro involving Mateo Kovacic.

As seen in the video below, Kovacic grimaced after Terry gave him a very firm handshake! Probably annoyed how easily the Croatian bossed the game!

But Terry apologised via Chelsea’s Instagram post that simply said “Easy on the handshake, John.”

Terry replied with laughing emoji’s, tagging Kovacic he said “Sorry mate.”
