Chelsea targeting German international striker

Chelsea could really start to make some moves in January now their transfer ban has been lifted, and we are starting to see a host of names linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

One that has been quietly simmering away is a potential move for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.

Chelsea have the Germany international ‘in their sights’, according to a recent report via The Daily Mail.

The 23-year old has a reported 30 million euros release clause in his new contract, according to a report via The Daily Mirror citing Kicker.

Chelsea could end up losing both Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi come the summer, with Giroud expected to go in January.

This will leave them in need of good competition for top goal scorer Tammy Abraham, and Werner could be seen as an ideal target.

The Bundesliga star has clocked up 11 goals in 29 international appearances for Germany and he is a sought after talent.
