Chelsea make Timo Werner enquiry as they search for attacking additions

Chelsea are attempting to make checks on the potential of signing RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner in January, according to The Telegraph.

Reliable reporter Matt Law states that The Blues are unclear on whether Werner has a release clause in his contract, and have attempted to find this out.

The two obviously have relations over Chelsea’s Ethan Ampadu, currently on loan at Leipzig, and Chelsea scouts are regularly at their games and have identified Werner as a target.

There is confusion over whether Werner’s release clause is £25.6million or £51.2m.

Or whether there is even a release clause at all…

There has been mixed reports on this subject, and even Chelsea don’t seem to be aware!

But it will be interesting to see if this pursuit develops, as release clauses are often something that is kept from the public eye.

But with the Blues chasing attacking options, Werner won’t be their only target.
