Chelsea ‘named as interested’ in sought after Brazilian midfielder

Chelsea have a shortlist of players of whom they are rumoured to be looking at signing when they are finally able to enter the market again.

This might be in January, or it might be next summer – this depends on today’s transfer ban appeal at The Court of Arbitration for Sport.

No verdict will be heard today, but it will come before the transfer window opens in January, and Chelsea will already be making preparations.

One player who has been quietly linked with Chelsea is Brazilian Bruno Guimarães from Athletico Paranaense, according to a report from Sport Witness, who cite Spanish publication AS as a source as well as their own sources.

The 22-year old midfielder is a target for Atletico Madrid, who actually have the advantage due to having the priority to buy Guimarães, which was agreed when the club signed Renan Lodi from Athletico Paranaense last summer.

If Chelsea really want him, they will have to work fast on this one!
