Chelsea could recall youngster from loan move in January

Chelsea could cut short the loan move of Ethan Ampadu at RB Leipzig in January according to The Daily Mirror, as cited by The Daily Star.

The Blues have grown frustrated that the 19-year old is yet to make a competitive senior appearance for the Bundesliga side since arriving their on loan in the summer.

In fact, the only competitive minutes Ampadu has experienced so far this season is for Wales against Azerbaijan in the Euro 2020 qualifiers.

It’s safe to say that this move that looked promising and the ideal move in the first instance, has so far turned out to be an absolute disaster for all parties.

Ampadu is a hot prospect and rated highly at Chelsea, but the versatile player is at a key stage in his development where he must be playing regular senior football now to progress.

Chelsea would likely look to recall and send him out on loan in England.
