Report: Chelsea striker prepared to stay and fight for his place

Michy Batshuayi wants to stay at Chelsea and fight for his spot in the team, according to The Evening Standard.

The Belgium international has found himself out of favour under new manager Frank Lampard, who has preferred to use Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud ahead of him so far.

It’s been a similar story for the 25-year old since he joined the Blues in 2016. No manager has really fancied hims as the main man up top and as a result, he has spent time out on loan with three different clubs.

Batshuayi played for the Chelsea Under 23s last night and scored a brace in front of the onlooking Frank Lampard and his coaching team.

He will be hoping for a chance this weekend against Norwich City as a result.

The report via The Standard states that if his game time isn’t fairly regular come January, then Batshuayi will be reassessing his options.

But for now, he’s happy to stay at Chelsea and fight for his place.
