Frank Lampard gives Callum Hudson-Odoi and Reece James possible return dates

Frank Lampard has just held his weekly press conference ahead of tomorrow’s game against Norwich, and it was a real mixed bag.

While there were two bad pieces of injury news, which you can read here, that was tempered with some good stuff too.

In quotes published by the Goal.com journalist Nizaar Kinsella on his Twitter feed, Lampard confirmed that Callum Hudson-Odoi is looking “sharp” back in training with the first team, and will be back in action soon.

Reece James is also training again, and Frank has given them both the predicted return date of after the international break in mid September.

That will mean getting through two more league games without the youngsters, which we can probably handle. The idea that Rudiger won’t even be ready for next week’s game against Sheffield United is more worrying. We’ll see if our defenders look any more stable tomorrow, but as it stands we are sorely missing the German’s influence at the back.
